"There is no money!" if we had the time or energy we could calculate EXACTLY how much we are saving the budget by doing all this ourselves and offer to go halves. Of course there is all the money we are saving the budget but it's apparently not Real money" I'd settle for a holiday right nowAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18079831.post-41267460309827815872012-04-22T13:06:17.791+01:002012-04-22T13:06:17.791+01:00Great post! (I have also lost count of the number of times I have been told "High Functioning" ASD kids do not qualify for support too.) It's almost considered shameful to stick your head above the parapet and admit you are struggling... but it's SO short sighted to ignore the huge burden placed on Britain's Carer's. It's a ticking time bomb in fact, because the costs incurred in the long run will outstrip the savings made by refusing carer's appropriate support and respite now. Long term chronic ill health amongst carer's is commonplace :(

(((hugs))) Steph and hope you survive the weekend! xKate Thompsonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18079831.post-11291329817741760672012-04-21T22:00:49.702+01:002012-04-21T22:00:49.702+01:00Great post. Trying to find a silver lining... at least when Andy gets back you'll really appreciate him being there, then perhaps you should replay the favour and go somewhere yourself?!

I'm sure the government would say that each area is in charge of its own budget and you'd have to take it up with them. Just so each area could say that the money has to be divided up between lots of families and if you have an issue talk to the government about it :-)RenataBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18079831.post-24199718581727485732012-04-21T21:55:31.112+01:002012-04-21T21:55:31.112+01:00Carers are so taken for granted, now that we save ...Carers are so taken for granted, now that we save the State hundreds of thousands of pounds/euros by caring for our own children at home, which is where they should be. It's unbelievable that David Cameron does not appreciate this, of all people, and help provide the supports before carers reach breaking point xBlue Skyhttp://www.lookingforbluesky.com/noreply@blogger.com
